my opinion ; 3DS Max used in general 3D Modeling , arch, mechanical..

it used also to make animation and rendering

In my case i use 3ds max for modeling in videogames, create uvw, basically for 3d modeling works.

I work in the production of plastisol dolls. In 3d max I make a model that is printed on a printer and a galvanic form is manufactured from it for production.
