Haven't come around to do it yet, but you can make with your own environment photo's with a 360 camera with HDR such as the Ricoh Theta S. Otherwise download sites with HDR pics.

I did download some, but they do not work as precise as the preinstalled ones do. If you know a place from where I can get some, please do share.

You can use cardboard camera on Android to take spherical images

I converted one of my spherical panoramas to the EXR format on https://convertio.co/nl/ and that went just fine. But, as also with the built in environment photos, it is attached to the surface of my 3D model. I always assumed that the environment EXR photographs should appear in the background of the model. Am I wrong?

May be you have high reflective materials!

One neat trick is to create HDR files from Google Maps ! Put your design anywhere in the world !!
