My company wants to make the transition from SOLIDWORKS to Fusion 360. All of our files are currently in the SOLIDWORKS format (.sldprt and .sldasm) Can anyone let me know what the easiest way to make this transition would be?
As far as I know, it is not about the "easiest" way, it is about being compatible. Fusion 360 can upload your .sldprt but you will lose history.
You might as well kiss your SWorks files goodbye. You can still have them, but they will be dumb bodies, no build trees, as mentioned. This is going to be true moving to anything other than SWorks.
If you're looking... then I might recommend Onshape. The workflow is much more similar to SWorks than Fusion fwiw.
We also switched everything to Fusion in our company a while ago. The tree structures are lost and you just get the whole parts and have some rework. Otherwise, you can open everything without any problems.
In my opinion a manageable effort. For that you pay a reasonable price.
