Sharing a project on a bipolar plate gasket with non-linear material behaviour, utilizing a full open-source software workflow.


Getting an overview of this fully open-source software workflow for high end simulations:

  • FreeCAD
  • PrePoMax
  • OpenRadioss
  • ParaView


Next, this workflow is illustrated in more detail:


  1. Creating the CAD model in FreeCAD:
  2. Setting up the FEM study by meshing the CAD model and setting the boundary conditions in PrePoMax:
  3. Solving the case study from the PrePoMax INPUT-file in OpenRadioss:
  4. Visualizing the results in ParaView:
