Hi I think the transparent isn't supported in STEP file, the transparent material is a specific feature for some proprietary 3d format, and OpenGL video shading related. I don't know if that is also handled by GrabCAD.

The transparency is supported with a WRL file.

So that solve my question.

But wrml isn't CAD exchange format like STEP IGES or others that preserve the projects information, is mainly a mesh geometry only few write Nurbs inside and is also obsolete, now replaced by x3d and there is also glft or glb new formats with many features for the visualization, butI think so in GrabCAD is supported well.

If you want to export with transparency, Use the "Wavefront OBJ-Arch module(*.obj)" format.

This format is well work in Powerpoint(*.pptx).

Were you successful, exporting as a BREP file with transparency in FreeCAD?

I did no success, I use the 1.0.0's FreeCAD

I just exported a transparent BREP STEP file with Transparency a couple of days ago from FreeCAD and uploaded it to GrabCAD and even GrabCAD recognized the transparency. I used FreeCAD 1.0.

STEP format support the transparent.

But the problem is the rendering software.

My target software is powerpoint but this S/W has very limited function
