Hello everyone,
I am looking for some support or suggestion here on this platform. As I mentioned in my profile I am a professional Robotics engineer. I developed many systems and mechanisms in robotics and automation, some I shared on my profile, and some are not because of the NDA agreements. I have skills and knowledge in this field but don't have any support on funding and also much knowledge on how to raise the funds for ideological projects. Currently, I developed my own researched design of a car washing robot (documentation is also done). For now, I am looking for support in the next step for exploring the products on market by making patents. More information sharing with the relatable person. if anyone can help me, please send me a message. we are working closely in the future.

Hi AvaniK
Complex mechanical mechanisms are incredibly difficult to patent, and even more difficult to finance where the designer/inventor maintains control.
Crowd funding is one possibility, if you have a design that has wide appeal to the general public.
Maybe if you look through your portfolio you may find designs that might have wide public appeal. and can be sold around the world through the various internet selling platforms.
Simpler light weight Designs that can be quickly made in small batches and sold.
A good way to build your confidence and generate profits for larger projects in the future.
I guess this is not the answer you are looking for but it has been a successful path for many entrepreneurs.
Hi John,
Thank you for your reply to my post. Actually, I tried to find a platform on the internet for selling our robotic products. But I am a bit confused about finding the best-fit platform for our industry. If you have any idea or knowledge about it, can you share it with me, please?
Your help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Avanik Donga
I don't know of a platform myself for robotics. I would approach likely companies directly. Offer ti do small jobs first then when they see you can do what you do you will get bigger orders.
What country do you work from?

I have several patents. I have also produced hundreds of patentable designs.
Patents are rarely advisable for products that aren’t in active development and production. The cost of a legitimate patent is in the 10s of thousands of dollars. Defending a patent can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Maybe even millions. Just having a patent is worthless if you can’t afford to defend it in court. So unless the patented item is already producing a lucrative profit stream it’s not advisable to seek a patent in the first place.
Furthermore, a legitimate patent needs to have all pertinent design details settled. A patent on just an idea is hard to define and even harder to defend. You need a complete design that has actually been put into operation to then produce a reasonable patent. The actual cost of a patent includes a significant cost for doing extensive searches for similar items. A patent obtained without these searches is possible but is unlikely to be valid if tested in court.
The alternative to a patent is to be the first to market and be the best in the marketplace. Keeping the design details as secret as possible helps a great deal. By the way, a patent does just the opposite. It gives everybody all the discreet details of your design. And if per chance your patent is not defendable in court then everybody can reproduce your design with exacting detail.
Patents have a certain wow factor and have some merit from an advertising perspective. However, patents, for a return on the dollar, are about worthless in themselves and in most cases have a negative return.
good idea. thank you John
