Can someone convert a .MAX file to STP?

Can anyone convert this file for me, please. I need it exported into a STEP or IGES so I can view it. Originally created by someone else.

I can most likely convert the file, but a lot depends on what it is and how it was created.
Post or send an image or file. I'll see if it is something which I can convert.

FresSWUG, Thank you very much for your help! I'm not sure of the condition of the file since I cannot open it. I'm including a link to the file if you like to try exporting it to a STP file. I was able to find the same file as and *.obj file, but it was missing detail wile openned in SolidWorks. Thanks again!

Kevin,
It looks like I can't convert a MAX file to anything. I must have been thinking of a 3DS file.
OBJ can be converted to a NURBS surface, but the topology will not be as clean as a true NURBS model should/could be. But, if the OBJ is missing information, any conversion will also be missing the information.
What makes the MAX files? Is it Studio Max? You may have to find someone with that program to see what the export options are.

FredWUG, Thanks for your help and for trying! The OBJ file gave me some general points and then I was able to use it, tracing the points to make a drawings.
