Can you make a sketch on a Body in Part Design?
I have a Solid and a ThickSurface under a Body in my specification tree. I want to add on to the Body to make it the part i need. I tried to make a new sketch but it will not let me click on any of the surfaces of my current part to add on.

The face of the solid must be planar in order to use it for a Sketch.
(Hover the cursor over the face and look closely at the little symbol that appears, to determine what shape the face is)
Just add a Plane for your sketch and add what you need.
What's wrong with your model? The dumb solid you are starting with is probably not flat enough for CATIA.
