sketch or dxf-file from picture (jpg or bmp)
I want to create a gearbox adapter plate to fit a BMW gearbox to a Jaguar XJR engine. Is there a way to create a dxf or sketch-file from a picture taken of the front of the gearbox?

Use 3d scaner ;)
Or import jpg and put it as an bakgroundfinde 2 points that you know the distens of and scale jpg so that mesure is corect then just put hole and important lines in the rigth spot..
Print in scale 1:1 and cut out papper and check adjust and then send for cuting
<that how i did it before any way mayby ther is any easyer way that i dont know about ;)

I import the image into AutoCad/Draftsight other 2D Drafting software, scale the drawing to the world and then draft on top of the image. There are conversion softwares, but they can be hard to use without high resolution, black and white image. (See convertio.co for image to dxf conversion)
