Solid Edge Software is best for......?

Hello, I have planned to learn solid edge and wanted to learn something that is very special. Is it good at sheet metal, drafting etc?
Accepted answer

Solid Edge is good for the same things as all of the similar 3D modeling software such as Solid Works, Alibre Design, Inventor and other main steam 3D applications. Solid Edge was the first 3D modeling software I used, version 7 in 1999. The last version I used was version 12. Back in 1999 the sheet metal module was probably better than most and turning models into finished drawings was easy to do. The initial experience with this product gave me a good place to start, and I have found the basic workflow and skills learned with this product, have helped me to learn to use other similar products. Any experienced 3D CAD professional should be able to be productive with this software right from the start of using it as it is similar to all of the mainstream CAD software.

Solids, sheet-metal, some surfacing, general machine/mechanical design. I'd say, very comparable to SWorks in capability. The synchronous tools are a really nice perk as well and unique to Siemens products.
If the top-down assembly modeling is anything close to NX's 'wave linker' then I'd definitely give it the nod over similar products for complex mechanical assemblies.
