What is a good CAD software for analysis?
I HAVE TO DO ANALYSIS OF A PRO/E MODEL( PISTON AND CYLINDER)...
east or west ansys is best
There is a plugin in PRO/E named Mechanical. But its not a freeware.
ANSYS is not very helpful with the modeling part. So I would rather use CATIA.
I THINK NONE OF THE ABOVE A's ANSWERS YOUR Q.AS SAID EARLIER ANSYS IS THE BEST.BUT THERE ARE OTHER SOFTWARES TOO SUCH AS ABAQUS,NASTRAN,ADAMS.ANSYS IS KNOWN FOR ITS MESHING ABILITIES.BUT BEFORE STARTING OUT ON ANY FEA/CFD/CAE SOFTWARES U NEED TO HAVE A FAIRLY GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNDERLYING WORKING THEORY OF FINITE ELEMENT THEORY OR COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS.IF U START WORKING ON THESE SOFTWARES WITHOUT THE ABOVE SAID KNOWLEDGE U WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE ANALYSIS GET THE DESIRED ANSWER OR SOLUTION BUT U WILL NEVER KNOW AS WHY IT HAS HAPPENED.ANALYSIS IS A COMBINATION OF KNOW-HOW AND KNOW-WHY.
Doesn't Pro-E have their own analysis add-in??
