1. Step 1: Process the mesh

   The model is loaded within the Digitized Shape Editor.

   
   

   To import a 3D model into the Digitized Shape Editor (DSE) in CATIA V5, follow these steps:

   1. Start CATIA V5 and open a new document.
   2. Click File > Open.
   3. Locate the 3D model you want to import and click Open.
   4. In the Format field, select the format of the 3D model you are importing.
   5. In the Scan Data Parameters tab, specify the parameters for the scan data.
   6. Click Open.

   
   

   The workflow involves the use of Quick Surface reconstruction to define planes in desired location and afterwards the objects are recreated within Generative Shape Design.
