How to export Inventor models to Revit?
Probably many of you are using Inventor models and also, maybe you want to use them in Revit, with available connectors.
In this tutorial you will find how to add BIM connectors to Inventor parts and export them as .adsk files in order to use them in Revit.

Step 1:
To start adding connectors, create first a 3D Inventor part.

Step 2:
Go to Tools -> BIM Exchange.

Step 3:
From the BIM Exchange Tab click on the Pipe Connector button.

Step 4:
Pick a face of the Inventor part to add the connection.
Note!
The diameter should be adapted from the selected face diameter.

Also you can add a description to that connector.

Step 5:
The resulting connections should look like in the image below…

Step 6:
From the BIM Exchange Tab click on the Export Building Components.

Step 7:
When the Export Building Components window appears, you can see the properties of the model ready to be exported.

Step 8:
The export format will be .adsk(Autodesk Data Exchange format).

Step 9:
After export, you will get an export report where you can see the result.
