how to model a nut in catia and show design intent

10 simple steps

1. Step 1:

   1.create a sketch on xy plane
   

   

2. Step 2:

   2.create a pad and check mirrored extent
   

   

3. Step 3:

   3.select hole wizard and set extension type upto next and click position sketch
   

   

4. Step 4:

   4.postion the sketch to centre
   

   

5. Step 5:

   5.change the dia to 60mm
   

   

6. Step 6:

   6.select zx plane. make sure you see all 3 faces of the nut(the trick here). create the sketch
   

   

7. Step 7:

   7.go to groove option and select the sketch and z axis at their respective tabs
   

   

8. Step 8:

   8.select groove from the model tree. now go to insert select mirror command
   

   

9. Step 9:

   9.select xy plane as mirroring element under mirror tab. warning tab pop ups click yes
   

   

10. Step 10:

    10.your model is ready
