How to use Copy with Mates Feature within SolidWorks?

I have to assemble 8 nuts in one of my assemblies. Generally, I would bring 8 nuts into my model separately and assign mates to each one of them. I don't have too much time left before the project deadline. So, I looked up the solution online. Then I found this amazing feature called "copy with mates". So, I thought I would write a bit about that feature in the form of a tutorial.

  1. Step 1:

So, If we have nuts and bolts in our assembly we might have to assemble them multiple times with the same mating references, Instead of doing that we can copy those references using a feature named "COPY WITH MATES". This is a simple feature which will copy our existing mates from a part.

For step 1 Just bring in the part and assemble it as we generally do. For example, I brought a nut into the assembly and assigned it three mates to fully constrain.

  2. Step 2:

In this step, we will copy the mates from our previous assembled nut.

Right-click on the part you want to repeat and select copy with mates.

After selecting the "copy with mates" follow the step in the pictures shown

If you select the faces required for the mates it will automatically place the nut in place
