How to Use The SP-400 Neck Finish Selection

This is a short tutorial to show how to properly use the SP-400 Neck Finish (and others) that we upload to the community.

We will model a jar to fit a 120mm neck (i.e. 120 SP-400).
Let's see...

  1. Step 1: Modeling the main part of the Body...

    Model the body of the bottle or jar, using the normal SolidWorks capabilities. In this case it is a very simple model.


  2. Step 2: Inserting the 120SP-400 Neck part...

    Follow the instructions carefully, as shown in the following pictures...


  3. Step 3: Locating The Inserte Part...

    Now it is necessary to place the inserted part in its correct place. For that we will use the Move/Copy Bodies command...




  4. Step 4: Combining...

    Don't forget that what you have now are TWO separate SOLIDS, but when they are on top of each other they seem to form one body. This is an illusion that we are going to correct now...


  5. Step 5: Finishing the Bottle (or Jar)...

    Now you can proceed to finish your model, adding roundings, engravings, flanges, etc.
