Instructions for installing ROTERRA 2450

Roterra 2450 water collectors are intended for installation in the ground. The free-standing installation of the collector is not allowed.
When installing collectors, it is necessary to follow the manufacturer's instructions and installation. In cases where simple and independent installation is not possible, consult the manufacturer. Landslides and floods and other difficult terrains require the advice of an experienced expert. We also offer advice and presence during the excavation, which enables you to install the product correctly and with high quality. If you need a drawing of the installation and burial of a specific project, please contact projekt@roto.si
For warranty claim cases in the event of damage to the tank, the entire installation must be documented with photos of the installation procedures.

Step 1: EXCAVATION AND PREPARATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PIT
Excavation of the construction pit should be carried out as shown in Figure 5.
The floor plan size of the construction pit must be 1 m larger than the dimensions of the collector, taking into account the minimum distance from the building (1.5 m) and from traffic areas (2.0 m). If the type of terrain allows, we dig a construction pit with as vertical walls as possible. It is necessary to take into account the slope angle of the soil α and measures for safe work. The depth of the construction pit must be coordinated with the projects and dimensions of the tank.
Before installing the collector, we must carefully examine the composition and characteristics of the soil. The floor of the construction pit must be level, hardened and stable. If the soil is less load-bearing, it is necessary to make a remedial cushion with gravel material or crushed stone (4 - 16 mm) in a thickness of 40 cm. The rehabilitation cushion must be compressed to a compaction of 40 MPa.
A bed of sand (sand 0 - 4 mm) with a thickness of 20 to 30 cm is placed on the hardened floor of the construction pit. The use of frozen material is prohibited.
In the presence of groundwater, a reinforced concrete slab d=20 cm with C20/25 concrete is made at the bottom of the construction pit. For more detailed instructions, see the detailed instructions in the Groundwater Installation chapter.
BUILDING PIT DIMENSIONS FOR ROTERRA 2450
You can determine the dimensions of the construction pit using the table below.

Step 2: EASY COLLECTOR INSTALLATION
1. UNLOADING and HANDLING THE COLLECTOR
Unloading and handling of the collector on the construction site is carried out in accordance with the general instructions on page 1.
2. EXCAVATION AND PREPARATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PIT
Excavation and preparation of the construction pit on the construction site is carried out in accordance with the general instructions on page 2.
3. INSTALLATION AND FILLING OF THE COLLECTOR
Placement of the collector in the construction pit is carried out in accordance with the chapter on transport, unloading and storage on page 3.
Before backfilling, the telescopic riser with a cover (by screwing) is adjusted to the end angles of the terrain. In the case of the need to increase the increments, an additional increment is available as an accessory [code: 7113110700].
A suitable backfill material is required for backfilling the collector, which can be round-grained with a grain size of 4 to 32 mm, or crushed material with a grain size of 4 to 16 mm. The use of frozen material is prohibited.
Backfilling of the reservoir is carried out in layers of 30 - 40 cm height with continuous compression of the material up to 40 MPa. Special attention should be paid to the consolidation of the empty space under the collector.
The reservoir must be filled with water parallel to the backfill layers with the backfill material. With this, we achieve the relief of forces on the walls of the collector. Filling the reservoir with water and backfilling with material is repeated step by step until the reservoir is filled up to the first connection.
Connections and instructions for connecting different types of pipes to the tank are described in chapter 7.
The last 20 - 30 cm of backfilling can be done with the existing soil to enable the growth of greenery. The layer of backfill material and the existing soil is separated with a geotextile mat with a grammage of 200 g/m2.

Step 3: INSTALLATION OF COLLECTOR WITH GROUNDWATER
1. UNLOADING and HANDLING THE COLLECTOR
Unloading and handling of the collector on the construction site is carried out in accordance with the general instructions in the chapter "transport, unloading and storage" on page 1.
2. EXCAVATION AND PREPARATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PIT
Excavation and preparation of the construction pit on the construction site is carried out in accordance with the general instructions in the chapter "excavation and preparation of the construction pit" on page 2.
3. FABRICATION OF THE AB BASE PLATE
On the hardened and stable bottom of the construction pit, it is necessary to lay a geotextile base with a grammage of 200 g/m2 and make a reinforced concrete slab d=20 cm with concrete C20/25. The reinforcement is placed in the AB panel according to the previously determined specifications determined by the structural engineer. Reinforcement is used to strengthen the concrete - the tensile forces in the concrete slab.
*The minimum floor plan dimensions of the AB base plate are shown in the table.
To anchor the tank against buoyancy, it is necessary to insert anchor inserts into the AB foundation plate. Anchor inserts are inserted according to the scheme and table shown in the picture before or after.
4. PLACEMENT OF THE COLLECTOR
Placement of the collector on the AB plate is carried out in accordance with the chapter transport, unloading and storage on page 3.
Before backfilling, the telescopic riser with a cover (by screwing) is adjusted to the end angles of the terrain. In the case of the need to increase the increments, an additional increment is available as an accessory [code: 7113110700].
5. ANCHORING THE TANK
In the presence of groundwater, the water collector must be anchored in the slab. Anchoring is done by inserting and fixing anchor bolts (M10 or M12) into the concrete slab according to the system shown below.
To anchor the collector, appropriate polyester straps are attached according to detail XXX.

The reservoir must be filled with water parallel to the backfill layers with the backfill material. With this, we achieve the relief of forces on the walls of the collector. Filling the reservoir with water and backfilling with material is repeated step by step until the reservoir is filled up to the first connection.
4. DESIGN AB RELIEF PLATE
On top of the backfill material, we must implement an AB load-relief plate at least 20 cm thick with an inserted reinforcing mesh (dimensioning of the thickness of the plate and the grade of concrete is carried out by a structural engineer or an authorized designer according to the dynamic loads of the road).
The AB panel must overlap the existing terrain by at least 1 m from all directions as shown in the picture.
5. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FINAL LAYER
A finishing layer (asphalt, paving stones, ...) is applied to the AB board.
The existing PE cover from the collector must be replaced with a cast iron (LTŽ) cover.
-
Step 5: DEEP INSTALLATION
In the case of installation, where there will be 1 m or more of backfill material above the top of the tank, the installation is considered "DEEP".
In this case, special attention must be paid to the relief of the loads caused by the weight of the bulk material above the water reservoir. To relieve the loads, an AB relief plate is made above the top of the tank.
Special attention for deep installation or underground water must also be allocated to the excavation. If there is a possibility of underground water, it is necessary to make a foundation AB plate and anchor the tank as shown in chapter 2 "Installation of the collector in the case of underground water".
