Machine Drawing- Fuel Injector
In this tutorial we will see how we extract features from for Machine components drawing. Concepts like function mapping and object mapping are used to understand drawing and able to create 3D Model of the same. In this case refer to the model uploaded titled "Fuel Injector".
-
Step 1: Interpretation of Machine Drawing
Unlike Engineering Drawing, In Machine Drawing, one has to know the functionality of each component , this will enable to draft assembly of the given components.
In our case , here we are going to 3D Model the assembly in SolidWorks , It is recommended to learners that first they should draft each component and assembly by yourselves. This will help to achieve many objectives like component mapping and their functionality.
-
Step 2: References for visualization
In beginning it is pretty difficult to visualize machine drawing as a 3D component. Suitable references can be utilized in order to ensure that modelled assembly should be functional, fulfilling it's purpose.
This is a trial-and-error method, which requires patience and expertise to achieve precise geometry and dimensions. At times one component takes 30%-40% of entire assembly modelling time.
-
Step 3: Rendering and sheets
This is final step of Machine components modelling. You can take render with help of SOLIDOWRKS Rendering tools which gives high quality renders. One point to note that provide the material as specified in BOM (Bill of Material) Table.
Create drawing sheet of assembly which include 3 Views including Isometric View. Create BOM Table to finalize the assembly.
Hope that you have learned from this tutorial, In case doubts feel free to post.
Thank you!!!
