Some uses of Construction Lines...
Construction lines are an indispensable tool when working with SolidWorks, especially (but not only) on sketches.
Personally, I use construction lines a lot in our modeling process.
We strongly recommend that you use them extensively and you will see how many modeling topics become easier and more understandable.

Step 1: Some uses of Cons. Lines
Think of construction lines as the guide and auxiliary lines an artist uses to frame his work, or to trace the important elements of his work.
Another thing to keep in mind is that SW only uses the solid lines of a sketch to produce some feature of a model. In that aspect the construction lines are ignored by the SW engine, so you can use as many as you want without any problem.
