Trim and extend in AutoCAD

This tutorial will feature Trim and extend tools in AutoCAD.

1. Step 1:

   

   Trim and extend tools are pretty simple,trim cuts the line you do not want and intersects with some other line,extend tool will like it says extend the wanted line to some other specific line you want.

   
   

2. Step 2:

   

   I am going to show you extend first,I activated the command and now I need to select the line to extend to,I want to extend the left line to the right one so I selected the right one for object.You need to press Enter after you select your object line.

   

   Now it asks for object you want to extend,after I clicked on the left line it extended to the right line.Just be careful for the line you are extending to,it needs to be on the path of the line you want to extend,otherwise it wont work.

   
   

   
   

3. Step 3:

   

   Now I activated the trim command,it asks for objects again,I selected the left one.

   

   Now I need to select the line I want to trim,so if I click the right line it will be cut to the point where these two lines intersect.

   
   

   

   That would be it,you can also use trim automatically,just press Enter after you activate the command and you can start cutting the lines you do not want :)
