Tutorial: How to model parametric 3D text in PTC Creo Parametric and show design intent

Here is the short tutorial for you:

1. Step 1:

   Create base shape (Extrude feature = create your model)
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Create new Parameter (string) and set custom value (GRABCAD) >> Ok
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Create new Extrude feature >> in Sketch mode create Text >> (set) Use parameter >> Select Parameter... (button) >>> Insert Selected custom parameter from the list

   Note: 3D text is now parametric driven
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Finish Sketch and set value for Extrude feature
   

   

5. Step 5:

   You can use Auto Round feature
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Set custom value for Auto Round feature
   

   

7. Step 7:

   System create Round feature for all edges
   

   

8. Step 8:

   If you need to change 3D text ... you can select Parameters >> and set custom value for text Parameter.

9. Step 9:

   Regenerate model = you can use CTRL+G
   

   

10. Step 10:

    3D text is parametric driven - you can see new value from parameter
