Tutorial: How to use “Mouse gestures” and “Shortcut Bars” to invoke commands in SolidWorks

So, we will customize shortcuts then create our part.

1. Step 1:

   Te begin, Open a new file in solidworks: File, New, Part, Ok
   then:
   

   

2. Step 2:

   First we will customize the "Mouse gestures", You can use 4 or 8 gestures, then 4 or 8 command to use also, repeat this step for any command you need to use.
   - the polygon for the sketch column
   - the cosmetic thread for the part column

   

3. Step 3:

   Now we will customize the "Shortcut bars"
   

   

4. Step 4:

   lunch a new sketch as shown, then select the front plan
   

   

5. Step 5:

   as you can see, I have customized for 8 command, you can use others as you wish. repeat this step to : draw the "polygon", add a "dimension" then the "Extruded boss".
   

   

6. Step 6:

   another sketch in the front face using the shortcut bar "press s key". then extrude a boss.
   

   

7. Step 7:

   select the edge of the part, then drag to chose the cosmetic thread command.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   select again the edge then add a chamfer. and that's all ^^.
