Using simulation in Catia V5

1. Step 1:

   Create a model and apply material and go to generative structural analysis.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Use the clamp option to fix a face of the component.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Select a face to be fixed
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Define load
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Define the value of load
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Define the direction of load by using "+" or "-" symbol infront of the value
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Click on compute to perform the calculations
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Click on preview->ok
   

   

9. Step 9:

   After the calculation is complete successfully, check the various stresses.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    Clicking on von-misses will display somewhat similar result
    

    

11. Step 11:

    You can check deformation
    

    

12. Step 12:

    tools->animate to see the animation
    

    

13. Step 13:

    tools->generate report to generate a report.
