volleyball in Onshape

I wanted to get to know Onshape better and had a look at the split, transform and pattern command.

I repeated this in SolidWorks and it is the same workflow.

1. Step 1: model one sixth of the surface

   

   
   

   after a basic revolve (I used radius 105) with 90 degrees use planes to split the surface. "delete face" takes care of the corners.

2. Step 2: divide with split

   

   
   

   divide with planes at 30 degrees. thicken with 3mm then fillet with 2mm.

3. Step 3: unite, pattern and transform

   

   
   

   transform, rotating 2 bodies 90 degrees

4. Step 4: ...and again

   
   

   

   do likewise for the missing two parts.
