The Rolls-Royce Trent 900 is a high bypass turbofan produced by Rolls-Royce plc to power the Airbus A380, competing with the Engine Alliance GP7000. Initially proposed for the Boeing 747-500/600X in July 1996, this first application was later abandoned but it was offered for the A3XX, launched as the A380 in December 2000.

Then we make the skeleton drawings that we are seeing below in the direction of the given meter.   We record every track we make under a specific file.

Today I would like to give you some insight into some design Industry related tasks. I will also show you some very useful tricks that will improve your capability of optimizing designs in CATIA v5 and help you become a better designer as well. Let us suppose that you receive a part file from a client as shown here for re-modifying some futures. This is a component from assembly of formula 1 race care. The part fitting might have failed during assembly due to some inadequate features and sketches that need adjustment. To make things more complicated, let’s say that the part was designed in some other software instead of CATIA. The situation will be complicated because criteria for designing parts in other software is different than CATIA. So, let’s see how we can get around these issues.

Linking parts in CATIA: Publication

We can have the same sketch (or parameter, geometry, body,etc) in different parts of the same assembly, that way if we need to change this element, we only need to do it in one place. Some examples: 1) Diameter of holes, lengths. 2) We maybe want a reference model with all the sketches, and then copy those sketches to different parts. 3) We could have a solid of revolution, that we need to split due to the chosen manufacturing process. And after the split, maybe because of minor features (holes, etc) are not totally simmetric, so we have to define two parts with two drawings. We could be faster if we linked only the common solid, before applying specific features. In all of those cases we can use the powerful tool in Catia known as Publication.
