How Do I edit assemblies downloaded from FUSION 360 in STEP format?

I downloaded an assembly file from FUSION 360. I tried to save the step file as solidworks assembly and part files it doesn't work. What do I do?

could you please explain in a better way what the exact problem is?
Did you save the files in a step file or part file for SolidWorks?
