How To Expert In Machine Design?

Hi everyone, I’m curious to learn more about designing complex machines. Could anyone share advice on where to start, the best practices, or key skills to focus on? Also, how long does it usually take to become proficient in such a challenging field?

Any tips, recommended resources, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you :)

To become an expert in machine design, master engineering principles, gain hands-on experience, learn CAD software, and stay updated on industry trends and technologies. Practical experience and continuous learning are key.

Hey Rafiq,

I think, you should start with a technical field, that interests you most.

Could be something like:
- Assembling thinks with parts, that needs to be fed by additional devices like assembly cells for mechanical or electromechanical things like gears or devices
- A technical process in particular which requires a high expertise due to many variables like soldering, welding, dispensing or part feeder
- Or maybe a special technical device which could solve several problems like robots, 3 axis portals or pneumatic devices
- Maybe you are also interested in a special industry sector like recycling, cleaning or semiconductor manufacturing

Long story short: If you know what you are interested in, you can start get a closer look how things are done and try to solve them in your own way.
