CATIA V5 - How to use Styling Fillet

Styling Fillet within CATIA V5 is a very powerful tool that can be used to trim and fillet complex surfaces.
-
Step 1: Styling Fillet
To use the Styling Fillet feature in CATIA V5, follow these steps:
1. Select the desired geometry:
- Choose the edges or faces that you want to fillet. You can select individual elements or create groups using the selection tools.
2. Access the Styling Fillet command:
- Go to the Shape workbench.
- In the Operations tab, click on the Fillet icon. A dialog box will appear.
3. Define fillet parameters:
- Fillet Radius: Enter the desired radius for the fillet. You can also use a variable radius to create complex fillets.
- Blend Type: Select the blend type (smooth, sharp, or tangent) that suits your needs.
- Fillet Mode: Choose between Simple Fillet for basic fillets and Complex Fillet for more advanced options.
- Other options: Depending on the selected blend type and fillet mode, you may have additional options to customize the fillet.
4. Apply the fillet:
- Click the Apply button in the dialog box. The fillet will be created based on the specified parameters.
Additional tips:
- Preview the fillet: Use the Preview button to visualize the fillet before applying it.
- Edit the fillet: If you're not satisfied with the result, you can edit the fillet parameters and reapply it.
- Combine fillets: You can combine multiple fillets to create complex shapes.
- Use constraints: If you need to maintain specific dimensions or relationships between the fillet and other geometry, you can use constraints.
