Tutorial - Assembling the Checkers board in SolidWorks?

For this we are going to use parts created in previous tutorials.

1. Step 1:

   Start SolidWorks in Assembly mode.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Insert the board and the pawn.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Click Mate. Now select the lower face of the pawn and the face. Click OK.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Now select axis and the edge of the face and enter a distance of 12.50mm. Click OK.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Add another mate about the edge and the axis at a distance of 12.5mm.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Linear Component Pattern.
   

   

7. Step 7:

   About the edge of the board, Select pawn to pattern at a distance of 50mm 4 times.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Copy with mates and select the pawn and repeat the face, edge & edge mating.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Linear pattern again.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    Linear Pattern the component again.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    Repeat the same step for the other side and we have the checkers board created.
    

    

12. Step 12:

    Apply Appearance to the component level.
