Tutorial: HDR library for Rendering of your CAD design

A few steps: How to create custom HDR library from any picture for Rendering of your CAD design

  1. Step 1:

Go to web (Google Images) and find "HDR" - system find for you a lot of JPEG's compression (the sourse for our HDR file = High-dynamic-range imaging)

  2. Step 2:

Download picture two times (version A and version B) - same pictures / different names

  3. Step 3:

Open version B (for example) with Adobe Photoshop and change Expossure (a little bit) - Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Exposure ...
Then Save the file (*.jpg, *.png format for example)

  4. Step 4:

Combine two pictures to one = Create HDR file
File > Automate > Merge to HDR Pro... >> Browse.. (select two pictures and Confirm OK)

  5. Step 5:

You can manipulate and change some options (Exposure Time, f-Stop, etc.) - you can only confirm OK button too :)

  6. Step 6:

You can set same another option - try to find some nice options for your HDR images >> Confirm OK

  7. Step 7:

Save your new HDR image to your disk / CAD library folder (for PTC Creo Parametric: instalation path\Creo 2.0\Common Files\datacode\graphic-library\hdri\)

  8. Step 8:

Apply Lights (HDR image to your rendering scene)

  9. Step 9:

Manipulate with lights and intensity - create your final Rendering of your CAD design
