Tutorial - Modeling rope in Creo Elements aka Pro/E
For making simple bended rope we have to follow these steps.
1 Make 4 cylinderical extrusions.
2 Twist them.
3 Bend them.
-
Step 1:
Sketch >> Top plane.
-
Step 2:
Now draw a circle of 10mm tangent to vertical and horizontal axis.
-
Step 3:
Extrude it by 100mm.
-
Step 4:
Now we have to pattern it about Y-axis which will create 4 cylinderical bodies. For this operation select the cylinderical body and then goto edit >> pattern.
-
Step 5:
Change pattern parameter to Axis.
-
Step 6:
Select Y-Axis in the Co-ordinate system.
-
Step 7:
Click the angular extent button to make it equally spaced about 360. Enter number of items be 4. Click OK
-
Step 8:
Now we have the 4 cylinderical body.
-
Step 9:
Moving onto next step goto Insert >> Warp.
-
Step 10:
Select the cylinderical body and then select twist tool. This tool will be twist the cylinderical body and give it shape of rope.
-
Step 11:
Under references change the direction to Top plane.
-
Step 12:
Input the angle value be 400. Click OK.
-
Step 13:
We have the rope body. Now we have to bend the rope.
-
Step 14:
For bending goto Insert >> Warp.
-
Step 15:
Select the body and then click Bend tool. This tool will be used to bend the rope.
-
Step 16:
Now change the direction under Reference to top plane.
-
Step 17:
Input the angle value = 180º and press enter. We can see that the rope is bended.
-
Step 18:
Click OK and the rope is created.
