Tutorial - Using SimulationXpress in SolidWorks for analyzing a rod?

Here is the Tutorial.

1. Step 1:

   Start SolidWorks in Part mode.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Right plane>>Sketch and make a circle of dia 20mm at origin.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Extrude it by 200mm.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Tools>>SimulationXpress.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Click next.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Select the face of the rod on right plane as the fixture.
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Click Next and the screen shows for force.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Now select the Selected direction option and select the right face of the rod.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Now Select the Top Plane and Enter Force value of 1000N i.e. 1KN and check the reverse direction.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    Click OK and Click Choose material and select alloy steel and then Apply, OK.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    Click Next and then run Simulation.
    

    

12. Step 12:

    Now Select the Show Von-mises Stress for stress distribution.
    

    

13. Step 13:

    Select Show Displacement to see the deflection.
