Functions include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining close working relationships with EPMs and DRI’s supporting various projects needs via: System and design consultation / Unit level build and documentation, Cable and harness fabrication (LV/HV/RF), End-to-end rack/enclosure design/layout/build/assembly and test, COTS component modification, SOP & test procedure development / EOL/REL testing, Flexibility to pivot rapidly as needs dictate or environments change and other tasks as required.
• Fabrication of parts in plastic, wood & metal via: Machining (mill & lathe, drill press, metal brake, etc…), Welding (MIG, stick, and Oxy Acetylene gas), Well versed in common shop tools, including laser cutter table and water jet.
• Sensor installation of temperatures, voltages, current, pressure, strain, encoders, etc.
•Soldering of PCB’s, Thru Hole & SMT down to 0201in size. Board level component placement, modification, rework and repair.
• IPC Qualified for component acceptance and conducting IQC (Internal Quality Control) testing in-process & final inspection.
• Instructor, created keynote trainings & IPC certifier
• Safety Team Member, certified Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) & Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Worked at the Air Vehicle Modification and Instrumentation (AVMI) branch, in the Airborne Instrumentation Systems (AIS) division. The division designs, develops, builds, installs, calibrates and provides operational support of miniaturized airborne weapons instrumentation and telemetry systems. Duties include:
Prototyping aircraft/missile modifications for test and evaluation and Fleet support.
Assists with design, setup and development, qualification, and manufacture of technologically advanced instrumentation systems for aircraft and weapons.
Performs acceptance testing on critical instrumentation components such as transmitters and flight termination receivers.
Providing source systems for decision-quality data necessary to support the NAVAIR test and evaluation community.
Skills:
Ability to interpret technical manuals. Skilled in reading engineering drawings and specifications & data collection which includes:
Developed In-depth knowledge of naval maintenance practices for proper breakdown and reassembly of naval craft and assemblies.
Understand technical drawings, manufacturing instructions and process specification to perform PMS on vessels and support equipment.
Posses technical writing skills to assist in documenting new manufacturing and/or assembling instructions for new designs developed in-house.
Skilled in providing in-service engineering support tasks for customer activities which include:
Ability to independently plan & support efforts including timelines, possible cost estimates requiring parts and equipment, shipping & travel arrangements and coordination with the end user.
Fabricate, set up, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate test racks for missile sub-assemblies.
Build, solder, and assemble cable harnesses, antennas, and PCB boards to IPC and customer specifications
