Bevel gears have a cone shaped appearance and are used to transmit force between two shafts which intersect at one point (intersecting shafts). A bevel gear has a cone as its pitch surface and its teeth are cut along the cone. Spur gears or straight-cut gears are the simplest type of gear. They consist of a cylinder or disk with teeth projecting radially. Though the teeth are not straight-sided, the edge of each tooth is straight and aligned parallel to the axis of rotation. In this tutorial, we'll learn how to make spur gear animation in SOLIDWORKS and in Keyshot. Here we will make spur gears using SOLIDWORKS design library i.e. using tool box. In the 1st section of the tutorial, we will assemble and animate spur gears in SOLIWORKS. In the 2nd section of the tutorial, we will export our animation into Keyshot using Keyshot plug-in. It is a basic exercise for beginners and it will be a good practice for beginners.
