How to convert STL to STEP using FreeCAD

84 23 Beginner
This tutorial covers how to convert an STL to a STEP using FreeCAD. Note: Since STLs are meshes, the resulting model won't be as precise as parts originally made as solids. FreeCAD can export: - Step - Iges - Scad - Dxf - Dwg - Obj - Pdf And many others…

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #4

18 6 Beginner
This tutorial introduces the Construction Mode for constraining sketch geometry and also new features: Polygon, Equal and Fillet (in Sketcher) then Thickness and Polar Pattern (in Part Design).

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #1

25 5 Beginner
The objective of this tutorial will be to discover the workflow for the parametric design of a 3D object with Part Design and Sketcher. For this we will model a basic part involving different types of functions.

Modelagem de funil (Português)

Software: Fusion 360. Peça: Funil. Origem: SolidWorks Premiun 2009, pág. 197.

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #2

15 4 Beginner
The objective of this tutorial will be to use the sketching tools: symmetry constraint, external geometry projection and Polyline. We will also use the Refine parameter to remove an edge.

How to import the model to Fusion 360?

5 4 Intermediate
I have successfully imported the following files: .STEP / .stp / .ipt / .sat / .iam but neither of the two you mentioned. Upload the file from the Data Panel. After upload, it should show up as a thumbnail, right click on it & then 'open'. Parametric mode will be disabled but there's a workaround on youtube (https://youtu.be/H-N1LZufT_o). Good luck.

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #3

19 4 Beginner
The objective of this tutorial will be to hang external geometry with the Circle and Polyline tools. Use the Linear Pattern function and use a subtractive function (Pocket) from a face.

3D printable metric screw thread

The screw thread in F360 cannot be printed with a 3D printer. This instruction provides a method for creating 3D printable screw threads.

Activate Orbit/Rotate feature via Mouse in Fusion 360

9 4 Beginner
The default Fusion 360 has "PAN" option when you click the middle button of the mouse. If you want to rotate you have to go and select the "ORBIT" icon at the bottom of the screen. This kind of interface makes it somewhat difficult to execute as one has to frequently rotate the model to get an overview of the model being constructed. Solidworks users may find it even more difficult to use it. This tutorial explains how to activate orbit function in mouse.

Robotic Tank Tread Assembly- Fusion 360 Tutorial (Tracked Robot Part 2)

10 3 Beginner
#Fusion360 #Fusion360Tutorial #AutodeskFusion360 Buy this chain: https://amzn.to/3f2FZEl In this series, we will design and develop a tracked, tank-like mobile robot optimized for use on sand and in desert environments. The modeling of the treads, custom sprocket, idler rollers and 3D printed suspension system will be shown in great detail. We will first create the chain links themselves and the tread pieces, then pattern them along the shape of the loop. Once we finish this, we will create the custom sprocket and motor connection followed by the idler spindle and finally the suspension system. In the end, we can mirror our entire assembly to the other side to create the right side tread. Working on only one side at a time makes it easier on our computers and allows us to work faster with less lag-time.

Difference in introducing fillet in 2D and 3D medium

3 3 Beginner
This tutorial highlights the difference in introducing fillets during a sketch (2D) and after an extrude command (3D).
