FreeCAD Basic Exercise #1

25 5 Beginner
The objective of this tutorial will be to discover the workflow for the parametric design of a 3D object with Part Design and Sketcher. For this we will model a basic part involving different types of functions.

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #5

25 0 Beginner
This tutorial allows you to discover new Additive tools in FreeCAD Part Design workbench: Additive loft and Revolution. It also introduces the notion of Datum object to create new reference elements in a part.

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #3

19 4 Beginner
The objective of this tutorial will be to hang external geometry with the Circle and Polyline tools. Use the Linear Pattern function and use a subtractive function (Pocket) from a face.

FreeCAD Basic Exercise #4

18 6 Beginner
This tutorial introduces the Construction Mode for constraining sketch geometry and also new features: Polygon, Equal and Fillet (in Sketcher) then Thickness and Polar Pattern (in Part Design).

How to 3D Print from Adobe Photoshop

The objective of this tutorial will be to use the sketching tools: symmetry constraint, external geometry projection and Polyline. We will also use the Refine parameter to remove an edge.

How to FDM Print for Part Sliding Clearance

13 4 Intermediate
If you are 3D printing parts that have to fit/slide together after printing, you will need to put some sort of clearance between those parts in your CAD system. A good starting place is a clearance 2x the layer height you are going to print at, but you should make a few smaller test prints at different clearances to see if the 2x layer height rule holds for your particular situation and orientation. Have fun and happy printing!

Matte or Glossy? Which Finish to Use for Your 3D Prints and When.

9 0 Beginner
Matte or Glossy? That is the question. PolyJet users often ask themselves whether they should print a part with a matte finish or a glossy finish. And not without reason. The type of finish can totally alter the look, feel, color, and even strength and durability of two otherwise identical parts. Each option has its own benefits and implications that need to be considered. In this tutorial we will give an overview of matte and glossy, compare the pros and cons of each, and offer examples that clearly show what each finish type has to contribute. Finally, we will wrap up with a quick breakdown of when to use what.

How Much to Charge for 3D Modeling

7 2 Expert
Since GrabCAD has enabled the "Hire Me" button, opening very interesting possibilities to get 3D modeling jobs, the question arises in some of us: How much to charge for 3D modeling? For this "tutorial" we have done some research on the web on the subject, and found several sites with valuable information on the subject. We recommend reading this work: https://sketchfab.com/blogs/enterprise/create-3d-models-cost, by Miss Amélie Deltombe.
