How to FDM Print for Part Sliding Clearance

13 4 Intermediate
If you are 3D printing parts that have to fit/slide together after printing, you will need to put some sort of clearance between those parts in your CAD system. A good starting place is a clearance 2x the layer height you are going to print at, but you should make a few smaller test prints at different clearances to see if the 2x layer height rule holds for your particular situation and orientation. Have fun and happy printing!

Export Motion Study from SOLIDWORKS with Keyshot Plug-in

2 0 Intermediate
After a lot of request from my subscribers and friends, finally I have decided to make tutorials with voice over. . I hope you like it. In this tutorial, we'll learn how to transfer a motion study of SOLIDWORKS with Keyshot add-in. This tutorial will help many engineers, designers to create beautiful rendered animations. First of all, I have shown the assembly of adjustable wrench which I have already done in SOLIDWORKS. This assembly consists of four parts. 1) Fixed Jaw 2) Movable Jaw 3) Worm Screw 4) Pin I have attached their files for practice. Then we move towards motion study section. Here, I have shown animation of adjustable wrench in SOLIDWORKS. We use Keyshot plug-in and we have linked our file to Keyshot. It will pick this animation. Just go to SOLIDWORKS motion study, go to Keyshot add-in, a window will pop up, click yes to export entire animation. After exporting your animation in Keyshot, adjust the wrench assembly. Do some basic settings and go to animation tab. We have selected 12 FPS and 128 samples per frame. Click render and save the animation. Kindly use play pause technique for practice. I have attached files in the description for practice. Feel free to ask your queries in comment section. I will try to answer each and every question Insha Allah. Keep practicing as practice makes a man perfect. #solidworkskeyshot #plugin #cadable Assembly Files: https://grabcad.com/library/adjustabl... Frame Generator Tips : Fixing Your Bridge Construction - Editing Intersection Point

0 0 Intermediate
Frame Generator Tips : Fixing Your Bridge Construction - Editing Intersection Point Frame Generator to create internal frame and external frame assemblies for machines. Frame Generator is available in the assembly and weldment environments. You need a skeleton part on which to insert frame members. You can either: Create a model to use as a frame skeleton and place it in an assembly file (Place Component). Define the structure of a frame in the context of the assembly (Create Component). You can select sketch lines and edges from multiple parts to add to a skeletal part. As you select lines and edges, they are added to a skeletal part in the frame assembly. In the finished frame assembly, each frame member must have a corresponding line in the reference skeleton part. In the process to insert a frame member into an assembly, you select a Frame Member family from the Content Center. Then you define the size, material, and appearance parameters. After you select the frame member, you select one or more edges or a beginning and ending point for placement of the frame member. After you place frame members onto the structure, you add end treatments. End treatments specify the miters and cuts to join them. For a straight frame member with a miter on each end, such as an angled beam between two opposite inside corners, the correct frame length computes automatically. Frame Generator automates both the selection and placement of the standard frame members onto the skeleton or assembly components, and the addition of end treatments. For a frame member with a double miter (miter on each end), such as an angled beam between two opposite corners, the correct frame length computes automatically.
