You can model in surface and convert it into solid (Thicken feature), then do the CFD analysis....I tried to do external CFD for a simple surface..... If it is not a solid, and is just a surface, then solidworks wont accept for CFD.... (As far as I have seen)!!!!

How to get thicken feature to work on a complex surface or some other way to make this surface into a solid in SolidWorks 2011?

For the thicken feature to work, the curvature of your surface has to be consistent enough that the feature will work. The thicken is failing at the first boundary surface.
