Tutorial - Analysis of Bracket in Mechanica?

Here is the tutorial.

Step 1:
Applications >> Mechanica.

Step 2:
Click OK.

Step 3:
Properties >> Materials.

Step 4:
Select steel.mtl and click >>>.

Step 5:
Now steel is added to materials in model.

Step 6:
Now we have to assign the material to the model. Since we have one part therefore only one material can be assigned. Properties >> Material Assignment.

Step 7:
Select the part and click OK.

Step 8:
Now a yellow symbol will appear which will indicate that the material is assigned.

Step 9:
Insert >> Displacement Constraint.

Step 10:
Select all holes while holding down CTRL key and click OK.

Step 11:
Now all the holes are fixed.

Step 12:
Click Insert >> Force/Moment load to apply load.

Step 13:
Select the top surface of the bracket and in Z direction input 1000N which ~101Kilograms. Click OK.

Step 14:
Now the force is applied and shown in Yellow colour.

Step 15:
Click Analysis >> Mechanica Analyses/Studies.

Step 16:
Click File >> New static.
-
Step 17:
Input name Bracket and click OK.
-
Step 18:
Click Start run.

Step 19:
Click Yes.

Step 20:
Now the study is completed. Click Close.

Step 21:
Click Analysis >> Results.

Step 22:
Click Insert a new definition icon.

Step 23:
Select bracket and click Open.

Step 24:
Keep the default settings and click OK and show.

Step 25:
Now the Stress plot is shown.

Step 26:
Click Insert >> Result window.
-
Step 27:
Select Bracket and click open.

Step 28:
Change stress to displacement.

Step 29:
Goto display options tab.

Step 30:
Check deformed, show loads & show constraints. Click OK and show.

Step 31:
Now we have the displacement plot in the same window.

Step 32:
Click Insert >> Result window.

Step 33:
Select bracket file and click open.
-
Step 34:
Change stress to strain.
-
Step 35:
Under display option tab check deformed and click OK and show.
-
Step 36:
The strain plot is also added to same window.

We have successfully completed the studies of Bracket in Creo Elements/Pro aka Pro/Engineer Wildfire.
